They also have kits to build your own analog synthesizer. One of these days, I'm going to totally nerd out and get one of these.
I understand the kits and plans are put together in such a way that they teach you about electronics and the physics of sound while you build your toy. Plus there is the fun of inhaling all those great fumes coming from the soldering iron.
